The Department of Education (DE) leads the delivery of education and development services to children and students both directly through government schools and indirectly through the regulation and funding of early childhood services and non-government schools.

About the Role
The Director, Koorie Education is responsible for supporting South Eastern Victoria Region and North Eastern Victoria Region, and will provide strategic executive leadership for:
The position has a dual reporting responsibility to both Regional Directors (for daily operations and work allocation) and the Deputy Secretary, First Nations Strategy, Policy and Programs for policy, strategy and outcomes. The Regional Directors and Deputy Secretary will work closely to ensure coherency regarding strategy and priority actions.
The Director, Koorie Education will lead a new Koorie Education Division in their respective regions, is a member of Regional Executive Teams, and will develop and maintain key internal and external stakeholder relationships, including with Senior Education Improvement Leaders, Principal Network Chairs, Principal Networks and early childhood education leaders.
As part of reporting responsibilities to the Deputy Secretary, First Nations Strategy, Policy and Programs, the Director, Koorie Education will inform statewide discussions to improve outcomes for Koorie learners, including contribute to the evaluation of Marrung, and development and implementation of relevant initiatives.
